Ive been feeling it just from my constant fanfic and fan art creation! I had to force a hiatus on myself for other leisure haha. My job as a casino games dealer doesn't define me either but I also do my best to set up time off, thank you advice and take good care of yourself, VIV!!

I just went on my Florida vacation with family last week and it was worth it. Enjoyed the universal parks, swimming with dolphins, the travel/exploring, the food and relaxation. Has few days off again this week cuz of the auction selling my late dad's equipment and trucks.

You only get one body & finite time to use it. My grandma's biggest regret was never taking time off to travel while she still had her health. Mine is working nonstop until my 30s- my creaky bones hate me for it now. Take breaks! Do things just for the fun! Say no to things you don't need to do!

These are very wise words for every creative. It also helps that through your breaks and trips around the world, it can also bring inspiration to possible future ideas as well. Taking breaks is grreatly important, both for personal health, and professional advancement.
i'm really glad to see this, because i do worry about how much work you're doing! ive been experiencing a lot of writing burnout from pushing myself too much this year, and i'm definitely trying to take actual breaks and not put so much pressure on myself.

Happy creators are great creators. So take your time. Go out and experience the world and take that experience and put it back into your work. It's a very positive feedback loop
Hell yeah! We're on this planet to be people first. We need time to lie in the grass or stare at a tree and just do nothing but be a creature with the sun on their face for a while. To engage with things that aren't through work, because no one is only what they do for a living.

I wish I could take more breaks but I have bills and debt so I am working 2 full time jobs for at least one more year. Hopefully one day I can have as much success as you or my weekends off 😜
Honestly best way to do it. ♥️A long time ago Id jump on anything. Then the then CEO of EMEA Disney who got the boot said to me "Remember your name is NOT Disney. Ur building profits for shareholders not just your dream". Now I'm across several shows for TV but trust my team n delegate everything.
Especially for artists who seem to have the consistent behavior of never feeling we've done enough work, it's important to not fall into the capitalist mindset of breaks/indulgences/fun being luxuries or a sign of slacking off. It's so important to find ways to keep your spirits high esp now 😭

As head of the ship I’m determined to work as much as physically possible but as it piles I’ve found myself hitting so many breaking points, and when I fail it effects so much. The breaks help get me rolling but also force me away a bit. Its helped a lot.
There is a story a High-school teacher told us. Once upon a time there was a Lumberjack who worked harder and cut more lumber than all the other. But one day, he started struggling to cut more lumber than others. His boss told him "You fool! You have not taken the time sharpen your axe!".
The moral of the story is that you take must care of your self and your tools (In this case, your mind) to be effective and productive.
Honestly, wanting to work harder than everyone as the boss makes so much sense. But you're also setting an example for everyone under you, too. Seeing you take breaks helps them be okay with taking them, too. Recognizing when you're hitting a limit and taking care of yourself is great leadership.
Yeah, I've worked for people who had a total grindset attitude, like going in to work at 3am and working until 8pm. And if you didn't want to put in that same level, you were a whiny slacker. People are not machines, and I can't think of anything that produces endlessly without also breaking.
Back when I was really young & really dumb I showed up to work with the flu and I told my boss I was pretty sure I had to go back home because it had hit me super hard when I clocked in and she told me I should stay and that I could go outside and throw up if I needed to (as if that was a favor lol)
Ugh yeah, one time I tried to call in sick with the flu but nobody was available to cover my shift, so I had to come in. My supervisor told me that once she worked a whole shift with strep throat, so I'd be fine. I thought about that a lot during the pandemic lockdowns.
I was so sick once I couldn't move when delivering pizza, told boss I was sick "ok you gotta have someone cover you or you gotta come in" "Im sick I cant moce,c "Yes , come in" Next week, boss "why are all our customers sick? Current job at casino "cant come in" "OK feel better"
Right? I did nothing but food service for over a decade before basically an office job, and it was a shock the first time I needed to go home early because I was sick. They were all 'go home, don't come back until you're well, we don't want whatever you have.' I kept waiting for the rug pull.

I met two of your cast members randomly at a bar in Atlanta last week. I realize how miraculous a happening that was now. You and your crew are across the country for promotional events, media, conventions, etc. That's a lot of work, on top of your work! May it never feel thankless or unnoticed.
I love seeing you travel and having fun ! It’s even MORE inspiring to see someone achieve their dreams while having a work-life balance, over the “hustling is life” type of people . No one really wants to work all the time, even if they LOVE their work, seeing the fun side of life is necessary too !
