Again, as long ago tweeted, Trump might achieve "victories" over US long trusted *interdependent* allies in the short term, but he has in many ways accelerated America's demise in the medium term. "Europe Finally Saying No to the F-35 - National Security Journal" share.google/u0d58v8MA33p...

UK should do the same. Start with the F35 as a threat to cancel other aircraft. US cannot be trusted. We don't need an F35.

The 19th century was Britain's, the 20th the USA's, and the 21st is China's.

The situation for US military sales will worsen, depending on what happens in the US over the next 3 years and at the next Presidential election. If Trump becomes President again, breaking the law in the process, then the Europeans will accelerate their departure from reliance on all US weapons.

It doesn't look without risk for Europe? But if Europe can get its act together quickly its excellent for medium and long term security.

Damn right - if the US insist we spend more on defence, then fine. But we mustn't spend it with the American defence giants and instead support UK and European industry.

"Europe" is doing some heavy lifting here with some countries reconsidering but a lot of deliveries already being underway. The real impact will be in future projects now that Trump has damaged trust in the US.
