August has been exhausting. There is something intensely suffocating about British politics atm and parliament hasn’t even been sitting.

I feel sick about the prospect of a Farage Trump-style govt - it seems that much of the UK media is ushering it in. Labour seem paralysed while the Tories don't seem to mind (most are Reform sympathetic and will go into coalition with them if needed).

Bluesky has been tolerable, but I've now completely abandoned all the tv channels and even newspaper front pages. I'm just sick of what I see as a mix of laziness and duplicity.

It's every Summer now. It used to be called the Silly Season, where the most pointlessly trivial load of nonsense would suddenly become 'major' political headline news. The weight of racism, hate, & incitement to riot pervades every aspect of August in England. Red crosses fill our estates, walls, bus & trams stans, shopping ctres, town ctres & pubs, 'supported' by racist & anti Muslim vandalism & stickers stuck on shop trolleys, ice-cream vans & climbing frames.
