I think there are 2 different Boomers- white/privileged Boomers who have never lived in reality or are of color but got privilege adjacent & sold out those behind them OR those who always were being oppressed & have the morals we stereotypically assigned to the boomers for the last 50yrs. Thankfully my mom and dad are ballers who protest and fight the power w me, for me, for their grandkids & dogs. Knowing my parents are mentally free is extremely cathartic.

We believe my mother is beginning to develop dementia because she has become increasingly erratic and argumentative. I do not care about her condition and will not provide any assistance. Good luck to her, though. Bitch deserves NOTHING. I treat my children the exact opposite way I was treated!

We express our love for each other through hugs, words of affection, and discussions about our feelings. However, my mother, who is a pressure cooker, finds it gross that we engage in such displays of affection. She uses her wealth to try and buy my kids attention. Disgusting fucking baby boomer.

They don’t need it so they don’t fall for it. They’re well aware of who she is. They miss my dad everyday. He’s the one that kept her decent and when he died in 2005, my mother turned into this horrific person.

Nobody ever ask what she did to us kids that we don’t like her. They always tell us it’s awful that we don’t want to be around her. They never ask about the mental emotional abuse of the last 20 years. Is pretending she’s somebody she isn’t unraveled and her true colors have come through.

Do you know why? Because their "Greatest Generation" parents spoiled and ignored them after World War II - thinking they would make up for everything they didn't have during the Great Depression. This is the result of the other extreme culture (excess). Extremism isn't good.
