Hiking in Monticello this morning and got to see this little guy. First time I’ve ever seen a fox in the wild up close. He quickly scurried away after I took this.

A juvenile fox peers out of the high grass and weeds next to a stone overlook wall.

I live adjacent to one of the Washington metro area's stream parks. We've had fox living behind our house for years. I've seen them hunting among the houses at night. They adapt to suburban life like the deer. My Jack Russel is envious; she wants to be a fox and effortlessly sail over fences.

Affectionate Jack Russel mix with dreams of a better life with the handsome fox that lives on the other side of the fence.

I know and I’m so jealous of people that posts videos of foxes and stoats in their gardens. I’ve only ever seen glimpses of foxes as I’ve driven by in the car. Today was a treat.

A fox used to regularly visit me in the backyard late in the evenings. He used to come for my flatmates dog food bowl which always had too much food in it. The brave creature would slip under the fence, & walk right by me as I sat in my chair, all the while its eyes peeled in me, & eat from the bowl

I live in a retirement community surrounded by woods. In the Spring, a fox frequently visits my patio, pausing to look through my patio door, before proceeding on his/her way. I've come to expect this annual "ritual". =)

I see them now and again. Not much bigger than a house cat. But impressive tails!

We're fortunate enough to have them on our property, along with turkeys, rabbits, deer, squirrels, chipmunks, raccoons, skunks, porcupines and more birds than you can imagine. It's like living in a wildlife preserve.
