I am GenX. I’m 55. I know it’s an insult, but I’m over-analytical & a long time ago, I got to overthinking calling idiots ‘tools’ & was like, that’s not an appropriate insult because tools are useful, morons are not. 🤣 I have an overactive mind.

I see where you’re coming from The literal meaning almost has no relationship with slang useage There is an insulting, bruising thud to branding someone a tool For purposes of writing chants for NG taunting, it’s easier to rhyme than douche: fool, groom of the stool, drool, ghoul, But i get it
