When I worked at a music shop in LA (right down the street from Guitar Center, which also attracts very specific weirdoes) we got so many odd dudes that we dreamt up a show called “Follow That Guy”. Where does he go? Who does he associate with? Is it possibly a bit or performance art?

I think of it as a social etiquette PSA: even if it feels impolite, sometimes it's ok to, mid-conversation, say "no thank you" and leave. Look at the consequences of being polite!
