Wildly underrated - particularly because the entire movie’s premise & success hinged on this being a banger!! The movie required 60s pop perfection, but also a song unique enough to stand on its own and be memorable and beloved by 90s audiences. Schlesinger knocked it out of the park.
Evita is wildly underrated as a movie musical, and Banderas should’ve won a “Bein’ Sexy” Oscar for “Oh What a Circus,” but this is absolutely correct as to the best original song Oscar that year
