They are already gonna lose them. Nobody that watches Colbert is going to watch anybody they can scrape up to replace him. They'd have to attract a whole new audience.

What do you mean by that? They have already said that the entire show is going off the air. There will be no Late Night show of any kind on CBS. It will probably be replaced by some kind of mindless reality show.

The corporate thing to do would be just to cancel his show and keep paying him so he goes away. But he can't do any other shows while they're paying him.
