The social media manager of CDPR was a transphobic asshole, so a lot came from that I think. And tbh. I'm not necessarily happy with the queer representation in the game itself (but It's also definitely not transphobic)

I think that tracks with what I've seen, since. It mostly just seemed to be anger at the implied objectification of Trans bodies in ads but given the subject matter,it could clearly be misinterpreted. Trans People /are/ objectified&have our base existences sexualized. Commentating on that isn't bad.

When we claim it for ourselves, we are punished, mocked and ridiculed.Our attempts at owning our Sexuality are used against us. I think the response to their ads(Featuring Android Femme Prostitutes with Massive Bulges, iirc)at the time were sensitive, perhaps overreactive responses to that subject.

I hadn't even heard about the ad so I just googled it. And tbh. That wouldn't have even clocked me as transphobic because I actually love the aspect of being able to "mix it up". (Especially because I'm nonbinary) So yeah. Completely missed that part of the whole controversy 😂

I think that's okay, to miss controversy and stuff btw. I don't think People should be so bent up about it, at times, but what matters most is how they proceed and address it and it seems they've mostly just tried to push it under the rug and that rubs me the wrong way.

It was also basically centered around the media manager making apache helicopter jokes if I remember correctly. That guy was a real piece of shit. What I haven't forgiven Cyberpunk however is, that they define your "gender" and how people refer to you based on your voice. I made a trans woman V

Yeah that's a bummer tbh, I can only hope the intent was to create that sense of ~realism~ and maybe do some social commentary on the fact that misgendering and other mistreatment of Trans People /does and will probably always/ happen. But the result,I think,will sadly just normalize it even more.

Conservative People/eat Cyberpunk UP/afaik. Seeing Trans People liking it makes me happy but gives me pause that it might not send the right message.I doubt I'll give it a shot myself, they lost too much good faith for me between the Advertising and the shitty launch, I don't think I'll excuse that.
