Religion is not good. Religion is nothing but man’s attempt to earn favor with God. Authentic Christianity never claims moral superiority. Rather it recognizes that God did for us what our own failed attempts through religion could never do - restore our spirit to life through God’s sacrifice.
Religion is a weapon of war, as has been revealed by several thousand years of human history. And who the hell defines 'authentic Christianity'? The Councel of Nicea did a piss poor job!
Authentic Christianity is lived more than defined. If a person truly knows Christ as Lord and Savior, their life should reflect that fact: love, patience, kindness, self-control, humility. It is knowing God personally, not the performance of religion or ceremony in an effort to please God.
I have known people who live their faith. Not all were Christian. They bear NO RESEMBLANCE to the so called Christians I see in the news!
If your only view of what Christianity is is from the news then you surely do have a distorted view of Jesus and those who follow Him
I was once a member of the Mennonite Church over 60 years ago, so I KNOW that side of it! Furthermore, I was a soldier for many years, and have seen Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, and other traditions used as war weapons! So WHO has a distorted view?
With all do respect, you do. You view and judge Christianity based on what you see from broken people instead of evaluating based on God’s word and the person of Jesus Christ. If you look to the world to find truth you will never find it.

I say there is evidence. More so for His existence and truth if scripture than there is against. You realize we both live by faith. We choose to place our faith in different things. I have faith in the scriptures, the truth in them and the God who wrote them. You . . . In yourself?
All scriptures are literature, the product of human imagination. Everything they contain is human narrative! Me? I base my opinions on evidence. Faith means nothing more than accepting a narrative.

Christianity is unique among all other faiths in that it teaches us God died for us to redeem us; not that we have to “be good” to earn favor with Him. If you want to hate on something, at least know what it is you’re hating.
I was a christian for 20 years. I don't care what you think your god died for, I care that every single christian denomination is orders of magnitude more likely to support right wing fascism than secular Americans

Nope, rejected faith because I finally read the Bible cover to cover and the claims of the book were unfounded and the morals unjustifiable. I changed my politics when I stopped attending church and wasn't being spoon fed republican talking points and propoganda every week.
