Luckily this time Guide Dog Ava managed to find a safe route around the abandoned bikes. On other occasions the “inconvenience” I’ve faced includes being forced into the road, including when I have my toddler with me. When using my white cane I've even been injured by badly parked bikes. 3/
Rental e-bikes and e-scooters are a fantastic addition to active travel in the city. However they can have a serious impact on disabled pedestrians, parents with small children and older people trying to navigate the pavement. Campaigners have been highlighting these issues for years. 4/
We urgently need a city wide agreement on who can operate e-bikes and e-scooters in London, the limits on unsafe pavement parking and consequences for those companies who do not monitor the appropriate usage of their bikes and scooters.
I fully agree. People just leave them in the middle of pavements & that’s not ok.
We absolutely need to sort this out pronto. They've popped up around my square in Bow in recent months and block pavements, dropped curbs etc. This is dangerous for me and really inconvenient for many other pedestrians.

Exactly! I've very strong upper body strength from wheeling my chair but I struggle to move them out of the way.
