Maybe their point isn’t that you can’t talk about LGBTQ people, but rather that it isn’t helpful to keep stringing letters on the end that your average person doesn’t know what they stand for. People don’t like to feel dumb or in the wrong. It alienates them. So maybe keep the language simpler.
