gerrymandering creates the scenario. It doesn’t matter how many dems move to TX if the districts are gerrymandered to group all dems to 1 or 2 districts so that the minority party controls the majority of districts and state electoral votes. A good reason to eliminate the electoral college.

Correct. Some states, like Utah, have legislatures that actively gerrymander along partisan lines despite their voters and Supreme Court disallowing it. Gerrymandering is a disease.

I believe scotus has, beyond all reason, held that drawing districts along partisan lines is constitutional. This from our “originalists “ despite a robust history that the founders were very suspicious and skeptical about political parties and their adverse impact on the republic. They were right.
