And the Supreme Court uses delays plus a super heavy presumption in favor of Trump to essentially allow him to suspend the constitution. He hasn’t yet found the limits of what they’ll allow that way, and I presume they’re there, but it’s such a colossal abdication.

That presumption is more or less all that's holding things together at present And it's precarious

And I think it’s largely precarious (and I think they know this, we’ve talked about this before) because we don’t know, and they don’t know, what happens when they don’t grant it in a case where the administration is really hell bent.

Right. It might be worth reflecting on what issue or condition would allow us to tell the difference between the Roberts Court substantively liking what Trump's doing with autocratic power and fear of his ignoring their own power, though I get it maybe doesn't matter?
