My childhood friend that grew up to be a libertarian didn’t smoke pot, she just became wealthy and decided she shouldn’t be taxed to help poor people have healthcare. Extreme wealth rots the brain.

My experience with libertarians has been with mostly guys, mostly moderately well off but some with excessive money, who never experienced bad luck. But that describes a lot of conservatives, too. The guys who called themselves libertarians did all smoke pot. (1/2)

But they wanted to distance themselves from THOSE conservatives to their non-conservative friends. THOSE conservatives varied by what was in the news. Usually they were religious conservatives, but when the Iraq war started going badly, they also included neocons. (2/2)
