To be fair to the US, your cities weren’t really built for walking… in other cities around the world, you feel like the cars have to fit into the city. In the US, the cities are built to cater to the cars.

The east coast cities are better for walking than the south or the west. Chicago is great for walking.

When I lived in Manhattan, I walked miles a day, I do think that NYC is good for walking & not so great for cars. LA is just sprawling (but it’s kind of amazing flying into LA at night with endless lights & roads) Home.

Portland Oregon has "short blocks"; it's a very walkable city (when it's not pouring rain or under siege by its own police)
