Can anyone with experience growing succulents and cacti point me towards good books or resources in regards to their care? I have a succulent and cactus and I love them, but I want to know more about them before I get any new plants. Thanks! π΅

hmmm @ellyndegenerate.bsky.social ?
Iβm only knowledgeable in plants that eat things
The succulents subreddit is a pretty great resource!
Good idea π
From experience carnivorous plants subreddits they can be a good place to start and as much as I loathe Facebook they tend to have good groups too which I assume they would for cactuses and succulents as well.
With should have been added in there somewhere but Iβm buzzed for the first time in ages so I forgot words
I found a local place that focuses on succulents and cacti and stuff, so Iβll probably hit them up too. They even show you how to proper plant and transfer them
I am pretty knowledgeable on them but doesn't mean I treat mine with any respect! I have learnt most stuff through my horticultural friends though. If you ever want to ask tho, happy to answer.
Thank you! Iβm going to do some research and Iβll hit you up when I inevitably get confused and have questions
No idea. Iβve got a small 1β tall one Iβve had for decades that keeps going, and I think the big one that grew out of a pad I planted in the back yard is still going, but thereβs a big tree & a bunch of vines growing out of it now.
Theyβre the only kind of plant I havenβt killed and I hope to keep it that way
@eepicheep.bsky.social may have some ideas!
I know outdoor plant stuff, but indoor plants are mysterious beings, and I really should be reading houseplant books because I have a hard time with routine. So I over- and under- water and have the wrong lighting conditions to make it all worse about half the time.
Thatβs been my experience with house plants so far, but Iβm trying to get better and have some that actually live for a long time
