Some overpaid PR goon somewhere said "we need to get ahead of this", and so they try to push it before the internet comes up with something organically. It's such a soulless corporate "slur". Very clean, non-descriptive and inoffensive. It came from someone who's into AI.

Why would the internet come up with a "slur" organically? You're inherently humanising this technology by referring to it with a slur.

That's part of the reason why I think that "clankers" is being pushed by pro-"AI" crowd. It's too "warm" and humanizing. Also it being framed as a "slur" in the first place. I'd go with something along the lines of "slop machine".
