Sadly dementia is its own kind of death.
You don’t say his he Jeffrey dahmer or something 😒
In order for an execution to proceed the criminal must understand the reason he or she is being executed. The legal process involves a psychologist assessing to see if the criminal is fit for execution by psychological standards. If the criminal does not understand then he/she cannot be executed.
Did he have dementia when he committed the crime?
so he should live out his confused life in a cell-not knowing his family-being angry or paranoid all the time?as a daughter whose mother has dementia I donot believe the Supreme Court was being more humane! Plus dementia or not he should pay for crime he committed. Court should stay out of it!
12 murder conspirators walked free & the one they wanted to kill is now unable to *really* feel the pain... so, don't bother. Proud of yourselves, Utah?
My God. Thank God. What are we doing here, people?
So, instead, the system gets to hang on to him longer and collect more money from his imprisonment. To me that is cruel. He chose his death when he was of sound mind, dementia shouldn't excuse him. Why take so long to begin with?
The dementia angle is about excusing us; not him.
Death isn't such a bad thing. 37 years of being a prisoner with death looming over his head is more inhumane, in my opinion.
Humamity.
Firing squad🤯
Abolish the death penalty.
