Tell me your paranormal, or high-strangeness stories.
I have toooo many. So much, I have an online blog about them going back 40+ years.
Links? Any fave stories? Do tell!
lightshadowca.blogspot.com Its only the G to PG stories. For googles community standards. The mobile version is limited. The desktop has my custom theme. Plus photos, artwork, about me, etc. I put it online in 2010.
I'm seeing a lot of Canada! Even some places very close to meeeeee. I'll check some of these out once I'm home from work!
Its only Canadian. I also have old newspaper clippings going back from the 90s I cut out. I am slowly digitalizing my journals from decades ago, which are going yellow. So the blog is only a very small part of it all. Most of my readers seem to be from Ireland and the US.
I'm Deaf in my right ear, I also suffer from sleep paralysis. The only time I have ever "Heard" something in my right ear, was heavy, very close, raspy breathing. From just beyond my periphery, while I was fully immobile. It's literally the only information that area of my brain has ever processed
Nope. Not a fan of that.
It's like the "Wiggle your big toe" scene from Kill Bill, but with terrifying liminal shadow people.
Saw a UFO in Kandahar, Afghanistan Had a Stikini staring into my room at my childhood home in Oklahoma. I saw its shadow cast into my room at night. In Seminole / central Oklahoma
Had to look up stikini. Terrifying. I always associate owls with Grey aliens.
Like, two? Maybe three years ago, I was walking around my suburbs just after sunset, when the horizon silhouettes against the sky. I looked off into the distance and saw A Shape, a triangle outlined by about 7-12 hovering lights. The triangle rotated slowly before speeding off into the distance.
I stood there, staring for a few minutes afterwards before continuing my walk. I didnโt tell anyone about it for two years.
I've got similar stories.
Have you seen stuff like that often? Lights in the sky I mean. In terms of other incidents, I think a good followup is that Iโve seen the same hag-like figure twice in my sleep, both during incidents of almost-sleep-paralysis.
I've seen many things in the sky. I got stories for days. Lots of them are with other people, some I didn't even know. Sleep paralysis has me seeing a lot of the same things over and over again. Thankfully haven't had an episode in a good while.
I was on a high school choir trip to NYC; one of the places we visited was St. Malachy Church in Broadway. I could've sworn an icon of the Virgin Mary near the altar blinked at me. Looking back, perhaps it was votive candle light flickering, but that was a strange blip on the trip
Always good to try and debunk strange events so they don't haunt you forever but when I was a kid I swear I saw a mummy at a museum breathing. I even told my dad and he just brushed me off. Who knows!
My brother had consistent nightmares where he was in a sort of dreamception with spirits trying to make him โfall asleepโ in the dream. When he stopped having them originally was when I got my suspected DID confirmed >_>; (and had my first dream belonging to an alter)
Jesus... how is it navigating that?
Well since things between alters tend to be like "secondhand memories" (think how you think of a game scene? You saw it, you were there, but it wasn't You) so it mostly goes down like--
Was hanging around Bachelor's Grove Cemetery; a haunt location near Chicago. I was carrying an audio recorder while we were walking around. After we left I listened back and there was nothing unusual until the moment we were walking out the gate. A feminine voice whispered "goodbye" clear as day.
Well that's kind of sweet.
Love stuff like this. I have so many stories, but I love to hear others.โฃ๏ธ
This happened last month. I was doing tarot cards late at night. When I was finished. I left the room to go to bed. As soon as I shut the door, I heard a terrible loud screeching sound in there. I opened the door, turned on the light to see what the heck was going on. (1/2)
A screw had loosened and fell out of the ceiling fan that I shut off causing the fan blade to be unaligned and the metal to scrape against itself as it slowed down. I stopped it and was just like.... Okay? ๐คท I was rushing my tarot reading because I was tired so I guess that was rude of me. ๐ (2/2)
Amazing. Haha
One time my wife was talking in her sleep and she rolled over and whispered in my ear "he is real and he is in the room with us right now" then started snoring again, leaving me utterly terrified looking out into the dark room thinking "yo what the fuck" lmao
I'd be sleeping on the couch.
Don't know if this counts, but I have "deja vu" constantly. However, I'm able to remember it long before it even happens. The worst part is if I break the order of events IRL, I have a terrible headache afterwards. It would be pretty cool if I could find a way to control this "power" though.
Stop changing the timeline! I remember when Pepsi logo was green and pink!
You know too much... Guess I'll have to activate the time warp again.. Now NO ONE will remember that the Pepsi logo was green and pink!!
Green and pink? Its always been that goofy moose with the eyepatch? No?
Yesss....

Woah, that's spooky!
Dude holy shit.
The cult rhymes with Taum Yinrikio
There is an old abandoned house that once belonged to a serial killer back home and the victims were kept in the walls. As teenagers, we went to the house at midnight. A blue orb floated out of the house turned off all our electronics and stopped the rain. Swear I heard whispers...
Whoa! Where abouts was this? This sounds wild.
Itโs a small town in south eastern Wisconsin. Old county highway used to go through the property before the highway went up. It was wild and thereโs a lot more details that are hard to put into a post ahaha!
Did this killer have a name that you know of? Was it a big story or just a more local thing? I want more orb information! I demand more details if you have the time to type! Haha
It was more of a local thing, not big news, definitely not national, and sometime in the 1930s as I understand. Supposedly, the stories go this guy was kind of a recluse. Not really a charmer, quiet, but always helpful and well liked in his community.
It was a torrential downpour, lightning and thunder was deafening and the trail was incredibly dark and I was recording the whole time. When we reached the house I got ready with my mobile lighting gear when all of a sudden the Mule turned offโฆ
And the rain stopped so suddenly it was jarring. Then from inside the house, a blue light illuminated the interior. Slowly a blue ball maybe about 3 feet across in size started to float out. Now I know what ball lightning looks like. Iโve seen it before. This was not ball lightning.
It continued to hover out of the house and then stopped in the middle of the trail. My buddy and I stared at it for a good minute before it started to move towards us. Our Mule came back to life at this point and we booked it out of there. Both of us swore we heard unintelligible whispering.
When I checked back the footage, it was all gone. But thatโs the whole story!
That is wild. What a thing to live through!
When I was 18, all my friends and I had had a party at the house which was about a mile up from the property and the old house was reachable via Mule (an ATV). We decided it would be fun to play ghost hunters, so I packed up my camera and went out with a buddy.
โฆwalls. But either way, he was eventually found out, it took a while but then the cops tore out the walls and and retrieved the victims. Bringing us back to present day. My friend is a Shaman for the local tribe, and he talks about Angry Spirits that reside in the home.
He would lure his victims to his home, whether on the premise of fixing something or just hosting a conversation. But once he killed them, he would stuff them into the walls, then repair and reseal the walls. This is where the story probably delves into legend, because of logistics of bodies in the
My favourite one to tell is trudging around the woods of my childhood home and hearing my siblings calling for me deeper in, only to find them at home when I returned later.
I bet you got pretty close to being taken by something.
In those woods ? Probably. Good olโ weird eastern Canadian wilderness
๐จ๐ฆ woo
I have a number of them ... this is one of the sweetest: bsky.app/profile/bodh...
Well that's cute. What the hell. Haha
I was driving from Wyoming to California back around 86 or so and was out in the sticks and had been drinking lots of coffee and had to pee really bad. I started looking for a place to pull over where I could have some cover and still see if any cars were approaching.
I finally found place where there were some trees growing and pulled over, turned off the headlights, and got out. It turned out it was right next to a cemetery but things were getting desperate so I went ahead and took care of business then hopped back in the truck.
I hadnโt been back in for more than a second or two when the truck started rocking, just a little and then more violently. I should mention that Iโd been driving for several hours and was in a bot of an altered state due to fatigue and Iโm sure my eyes widened and my adrenaline started rushing.
The first thing I thought to do was turn the headlights back on and I immediately saw โฆ
โฆ that I had reflexively pushed the clutch in without thinking about it and had started rolling on the uneven shoulder of the road that had an ever so slight incline right at that spot. No otherworldly/supernatural explanation required.
Okay I guess I should share something too.
I was on my computer one night. My dog came into my room (R.I.P.Jack) and indicated he wanted to go for a walk. So we go for a walk. The usual walk is down the street which is the shape of a C, and back up. During this walk I started to feel dizzy and weird. Jack was also acting weird.
He wasn't sniffing or taking a piss. He started whining so I was making sure he didn't step on glass or something. When I was bent over I got super light headed and stood up, looking up at the sky, trying to breathe and center myself again. I noticed something in the sky.
It appeared to be a black triangle. Mixing in and out of the clouds. We had gone to the end of the street so I made us run back to the top of the street where we lived. And got back inside our apartment.
When I got back to my laptop, my screensaver was on. The weird part is that it only comes on after 30 minutes of no mouse activity. The walk itself is maybe 10 if I walk slowly. So I was gone at least 30 minutes maybe more, and I don't know what happened to that time.
In my 20s in Toronto, some days I would know I would meet friends on the subway. I never knew who it would be, but I knew there would be paths crossed. It never failed to happen, but I was always skeptical of the "knowingness."
So you had like a weird other sense almost? Or you were like tapped into future moments. Pretty cool, pretty cool. Not too far from meeeee.
I had a breakdown in my 20s, in the winter. I went to the AGO, art gallery, to get my mind right but was barely able to hang on. I let this sense lead me to a restaurant on Young street where (I felt) a friend was within. When this friend came out the door, I fell to my knees in a snow bank. Odd.
I was meditating while wearing noise-canceling headphones. The headphones were streaming a playlist of instrumental music. Right as I took the headphones off at the end of the session, I heard a deep, feminine voice say, "Hey!" No one else was around.
Headphones always have me thinking I'm missing something happening around me. Now I don't want to take mine off.
I have a very interesting story about when I was a kid, I saw a UFO but it flew along the ground. It went so fast, it was just a blur. I have a long written version with all the details.
I'd be down to read it!
40 years ago we lived in a house where many things just disappeared. Heavy maternity pants went in washer/dryer never seen again. Can of V8 in Lv room Poof! 1 night we heard someone say "Oh shit" went to look noone there. Never scary just weird af
WHAT DO YOU MEAN?! THATS TERRIFYING!
Truly more weird and VERY annoying then scary. But I have always wondered if there was some sort of "porthole" to another place or time. At 1st we thought we had a thief for a friend but somethings weren't really easy to explain as thefts. Nothing was ever found even when we moved.
Any chance to go back? Run some experiments?
Not long after we moved the house also disappeared lol. Actually the woman next door bought it and had it torn down.
Welp. Maybe not so much the house but that exact spot or area is something. Maybe she lied about tearing down the house and maybe it actually disappeared one night...
You know she maybe knew something we didn't and thought it best to remove it. You have definitely renewed my curiosity.
The city does have a paranormal group I think. Maybe I should try to contact them sometime.
100% you should worst case you do a lil investigation and find nothing. At least you get a cool adventure from it?
Almost seemed that way lol. It was just off the freeway so we drove past it often. 1 day it was gone and we were like" oh look now the house is missing"
Went to an abandoned building that had its door bolted shut with several nails and a timer above the doorway counting down. Came back several months later and found the door had been blown off its hinges. Found a room with my friendโs name on the door and took a picture but ofc the pic is blurry
Low light stuff usually is unless you're super still. Creepy tho!
i used to tell a halloween story occasionally on twitter about a spirit table my childhood friend's family owned and how it accurately predicated my death
You should tell it here because now I'm interested.
