What's clear now is that this regime will not leave voluntarily. No amount of bad polling, bad press, mass protesting, or public resistance by mayors & governors will make them reconsider their policies. No judicial decisions or election results will make them stop.

Nobody cares about being SHAMEFUL. Nothing appears to be too shameful to say, propose or do. For instance ending Birthright Citizenship or even challenging it, is just too shameful to even consider. Things deemed inalienable can't be argued away. Inalienable means exactly that.
