We still have Covid around, but I think the pandemic is over. I'm asking. I don't know any more than you.

We sort of collectively decided as a people that we're chill with the death level covid currently has. Granted we have vaccines and effective drugs to combat it now. It is now classified as an endemic disease.
We have a non neutralizing vaccine and paxlovid is far from effective. WHO estimates 1 in 10 infections leads to long covid which can include brain, heart & immune system damage. That level chronic illness in our population is not sustainable for our healthcare systems.
Oh I agree with you but as a people we clearly have decided that's a price worth paying so the economy keeps chugging along. Choo choo.
It won’t work when so many people are disabled by long covid. Of course a big chunk of people will blame their long covid symptoms on the vaccine and others will blame seed oils or The Jews. But because we are talking about it here some will know it’s the contagious disease
Sure but capital doesn't believe in the future. Only next FY. Ultimately it does impact productivity, but the immediate gains from "fuck the disabled and weak there's money to be made" is too good. It'll catch up to us eventually but it hasn't yet.
The Pandemic phase of Covid is over since we are no longer a "naive" population. Most of us, either by infection or vaccination have immune systems familiar with some form of the Covid virus. So like influenza, it is now endemic with periodic epidemics as a particularly virulent strain develops.
That’s a technically correct way of saying lots of people are still developing long COVID and dying while we whistle and stroll by the graveyards.
Yes, people will be developing long Covid. Also, people will also be dying of influenza and there is a realization of syndromes and health issues post influenza. Finally, with RFK Jr. in power, both Influenza and COVID are going to get worst the next few years with the suppression of vaccination.
Yes, we should protect ourselves from the flu as well. But if you look at the numbers you will see we already know that COVID causes much more death, hospitalization, and long-term health problems. There is a reason long-COVID has become the leading chronic condition in children, surpassing asthma.

Will Kennedy never catch anything? Will any of his pet diseases set him down at some point?
I mean the man has literal brain worms. I feel like he's got a real three stooges syndrome
Having had one infection makes it more likely for you to get long covid next time. We need to clean the air much like we clean our drinking water. Much work to be done and in the meantime we are masking up to protect our health & each other.
Better Covid, Measles, Birdful and RFK Jr, I'm staying masked for the foreseeable future. But the upside is I haven't had to deal with allergies either.
Thank you.
