Either his veins are shit or he has bad people placing them. As a nurse, a back of the hand IV is not one I would place on a geriatric patient like him unless there was no other choice.

A dear elder in my life hurt the back of her hand in a fall against a door jamb. It took forever to heal the layers of skin scraped off the back of her hand. Also thinking the bruises on his knuckles could be from a fall. He would hate the optics of people knowing he falls. 🤔

Unless he’s been falling regularly for at least the last 5-6 years ( see my above photo from him departing his then flight from 2020 depicting a bandage covering the same area ) that is hardly unlikely without suffering other injuries besides the back of his right hand all the time.

True. I just can’t help remembering what a tender area that is (having cared for an innocent, non-harmful person with an injury there.) Anyway, kind of challenging to hide boo-boo’s on the hands and face.
