I’m so sorry this happened to you. I’m deep in the research and Dobson’s work in part seemed aimed at pedophiles and giving them cover. It’s beyond disturbing

The notion that 1) girls are irresistible sexual temptations for men who cannot possibly be expected to control themselves and 2) if you aren't the right sort of girl properly submissive to a male authority figure you deserve what you get is pervasive in that subculture.

I cannot tell you the number of times I've heard seemingly normal white evangelicals say the most disturbing shit about girls and sexual assault with absolutely no idea that they just said something horrifying.
