A Kirby Butler resided in our house. My son-in-law was fascinated by it. Shiny!

Generously chromed? ππ₯°
My grandma's was super shiny too π€£
The chrome in those days was not spared on cars and appliances, S!
I remember. I always thought it looked kind of tacky, tbh. The best use of chrome I've found, are these "chrome" glue-on nails π
Heyβ¦those are pretty kool! Easy to apply and remove? I bought this spangly silver outfit (unworn) Iβd probably never wear in public theyβd look great with!
Super easy. I loved using them, back when I used to have a reason to get dressed up & wear them. I could put a full set on in 10 minutes, while riding the bus to job interviews. π
Used to have mine done every two weeks. For work. Not since retiring. And my hands not that adeptβ¦wow! π
Tacky in a 1955 Buick sort of way. My parents were born in 1920 and the Kirby was purchased in '60 or '61. It was still going strong in the 1st decade of the 21st century.
Built to last, those vacuums were! Hated by both dogs & cats in households everywhere. π
Have an Oreckβ¦nice and light. Sig attacks it everytime I turn it onβ¦ππ€£πππ
I got a Bissell Cleanview bagless vacuum when I moved in here, and it works like a charm. Also invested in a power mop, and I'm glad I did, with these two canine slobs. π
Oh, S! Donβt remind me, please! I view the squalor on most of my floors and break down in despairβ¦
So much for planned obsolescence and that nasty Henry Ford! π
Absolutely--with ruby red plastic trim.
Sounds like a Beauty! Nothing like OG! π Catalin, maybe.
