#jazzsky #vinylsky #nowspinning Illinois Jacquet, the Black Velvet Band, Bluebird/RCA, 1988. Recorded 1947, 1949, 1950, 1967. The last track is the Lionel Hampton Orchestra reprising their seminal "Flying Home" performance including Jacquet's famous solo at Newport.

The primary one has Illinois in a light-colored 40s suit with wide lapels and a painted floral tie. The other two are in the same outfit but darker. They are surrounded by cut blue paper, and red and yellow squiggles like fireworks.
