Our car search has gone on so long that I'm brainwashing myself into a 2025 year model Lexus, what is happening to me

TBH, if you have the money for it... not a bad buy!

It's always hilarious to compare values of Lexus or Acura cars to equivalent M-B or BMW, ten years down the line. The Germans cost more up front and get you less at the end of the line. More fun to drive, usually, but for non-enthusiasts/masochists, the Japanese are the right choice.

So for me it was Lexus vs Acura. I'm a Honda girlie in part because I think their cars are more fun to drive, but it was IMPOSSIBLE to find an MDX between 2012 and 2019 that would stay on the lot long enough for us to test drive it. We ended up getting a great deal on this one too

We ended up with a 2018 RX 350. My dude is obsessed with it lol

We had a 2010 RX350 and when we sold it it had over 200k miles and still ran like new. The interior was falling apart but that 3.5l engine is indestructible. Protip: spend the money on an alignment at least once a year. That thing is heavy and will eat tires if you don't get em aligned.

That was one of the first things we noticed was how much heavier it is than the Infiniti. That's good to know though. I'm totally confident in the engine on this one too, I know multiple people who are still driving the 2004s they inherited from their moms in high school lol

Great car! My mom has a more recent one. Maintain it and you'll get to 300k with that thing

Exactly. It's a totally unimpeachable choice across the board

I hope to drive my current whip (a strange car that's technically a Mazda but badged like a Toyota) until a mileage of that length, at which point I'll buy whatever the Lexus core sedan is.

Yep, 2017 Yaris IA. A weird cross-corporate blend of Toyota, Scion, and Mazda

The new car is not a 2025 but it is a Lexus made within the past ten years. It's got air conditioning in the seats and a heated steering wheel and as far as I'm concerned this makes it a spaceship

When we had to buy a car in 2021 we ended up with a fancier model than we'd usually get because there weren't a lot of choices we liked at a similar or lower price. The a/c in the seats was something we'd never heard of before, but we love it.

Same here, we ended up with the fully loaded premium trim package. The 2025 version of this car was $75k so it was a no brainer to get this one for $20k once we did the side by side comparison
