Thank you for reminding us that there are some fairly reasonable people in Congress, at least willing to have fairly reasonable conversations.
The uptick in aviation accidents reminds me of messaging efforts to normalize certain taboo behaviors. Am I crazy to worry that we are heading towards a day in which a flight carrying many representatives from California / Silicon Valley goes down? An “accident” that, as one of many, doesn’t alarm?

The answer to the question John posed is simple. It's because the republicans in the Senate and house, by and large, are not serious people and aren't there to do their job and appropriately represent the best interests of their constituents.
