Principles and politics don't make good bedfellows. Politics is all about compromise including on principles. That's the reality some of us have to accept.

I'd give up a lot of my principles to avoid a deform win. If that means leaving the ECHR and a British bill of rights brought to us by Labour rather than deform, so be it.

There’s principles and there’s ‘existential’ issues too. We all have skin in the game, but some are more directly at risk of being sacrificed on the altar of compromise.
