Read the story elsewhere. Elon renamed the dead file, the "Ineligible file." These people will not be able to access their bank accounts, they will not be able to file insurance claims, or to insure their homes or cars. Its only a matter of time b4 Trump does this to US Citizens as well.

The move will effectively financially starve the immigrants, cutting off their ability to legally work in the U.S., receive various gov’t benefits & access financial services like credit & bank accounts. The trump regime is hoping it will drive them to self-deport.

They are linking all of the systems together, so basically payments can't be made if one database says they are dead. And yes, there will be no one to call to correct it.
