Not said is that according to the admin's interpretation of the Constitution, these children were not citizens. Born here yes, but because they were born to illegal immigrants their citizenship is in dispute. The Supreme Court has already been asked to sort this out. Legal argument - not a moral one

This story misses the point. Yes, those kids were American citizens. The 14th Amendment. But the point that is overlooked is the 5th Amendment: Those mothers have a right for their cases to be heard by a judge. It was a violation of their Constitutional right simply to deport them.
If only Democrats had made sure hearings were happening in a timely manner instead of neglecting the whole system and the people counting on it.
