This has been in the works since 2008-began being available years ago-seems numerous people just did not bother to get the Real ID when their licenses came due-procrastinated & now are crying because they have to wait hours to get it-with an appointment at DMV last year it took me 40 minutes.

I didn’t get it because they required a lot of proof of address crap. That was a problem since I don’t live with my parents anymore, but want to keep that address. So I’ll use my passport now, which ironically also has my parents address, but no one seems to care!

Everyone should be aware that the millions of people who are members of AAA can schedule an appointment at a local AAA office and get their RealID there. AAA is efficient and generally should be able to supplement government offices; one way to avoid the long lines!!
