Great thanks are due to Bill Gates for accepting in this decision the duty of the lucky to look after the unlucky. Material success in this world is a consequence of a person's genetic and/or social endowment, ie a matter of pure luck. Congrats too to W Buffett and M Bloomberg for similar decisions.

It says “virtually all” his wealth. I’d guess the $200B is more an estimate of that wealth now. Fairly sure what he gives away will be far more than $200B by the end of things

"Virtually all", and then puts the number at $200B, his current wealth. So there's really no reason to believe he's committing to more. I'm not saying he's not either, just that that's the quoted number and he's virtually guaranteed to gain exponentially more wealth over 20 years.

Money is meaningless when you own a controlling share of the food supply. He can give away every last dollar and it will continuously replicate itself until the end of humanity.

Both he and his ex, Melinda, are doing the correct thing with their wealth as opposed to the Bezos method of over the top ridiculous and wasteful spending. Imagine if Gates' fellow billionaires donated the majority of their wealth for medical research, feeding, housing the poor, educating kids etc.
