France and Italy have developed the SAMP/T Aster 30 B1NT missile system which is technically superior and cheaper than the Patriot missile system. The major benefit of the SAMP/T system is that it can strike targets across a 360-degree range, a feat which would require multiple Patriot fire units.
US did not provoke that war to make others earn money ..
SAMP/T Aster battery costs £500 million. Aster 30 missile costs $2 million each. Patriot battery costs $1 billion. Patriot missile costs $4 billion each. You need at least three Patriot batteries to cover the extent of one SAMP/T battery. The savings will be huge for European countries.
