So while this feels like one of those "feel good" moments, Chicago Animal Care & Control, the only open access shelter in Cook County is euthanizing dogs every day for space. They are averaging 50 dogs being surrendered every day. 1/2
And all this does is put more pressure on an already taxed system. But sure PAWS will be glad to charge $500 or whatever their adoption fee is for these imported dogs while dogs right down the street from them are being killed. Whoopie... 2/2
