A pilot flying a Delta Air Lines regional jet on Friday apologized to his passengers after making a hard turn to avoid colliding with a US Air Force B-52 bomber, audio from the incident shows.

Which aircraft was out of its designated space?
Why is it always military aircrafts that seem to be getting in the way of passenger jets??
Sounds more like we've got middle eastern terrorists working in the airline industry...... DEI hires, perhaps?
Trump/Hegseth
Yeah, it was a rhetorical question.
😲
Thanks Kegsbreath!! Call your f*cking sponsor, or get one.
Par for he course since you have imbeciles running the gov, dismantling our federal agencies, the hand of Trump, Muskrat, and Doge are behind all these mishaps, by indiscriminately firing experienced employees.
So not only is Mr. Transportation/Nasa-RoadRules Challenge not doing his job. Mr. Tattooed Fox News host doesn't know to keep his military out of harms way.
If I was riding on that plane, no pilot apology would be necessary. Strictly hypothetical, because I never fly union busting Delta Air Lines.
John Madden was right ..”Holy Moley what was that? ..Blue Angles..that close?!!! They were eye level!!! Crowd thought that was great.. where are they now?!! That’s as close as I’ve been to an airplane in 18 years”..”you don’t fly do you..” 49rs ,Rams ,16yrs ago. Last sane broadcaster.
I’d bet almost certainly it was the Delta pilots fault
It wasnt
Well, we don’t know, almost certainly the regional jet pilot. This article doesn’t prove a thing
One plane was flying with clearance and vectors. One wasn’t.
I mean, that’s what the pilot of the regional jet says…let’s get the radio calls and radar data
Keep digging yourself in deeper, FG.
35 years in aviation and meteorology, multiple aircraft investigation boards, might know something some others don’t
Or maybe it could have something to do with air traffic control being massively understaffed thanks to Trump?
Or maybe instead of projecting we wait until the investigation tells us what happened?
I mean, you’re the one who started jumping to conclusions.
I'm going to tell you what I would have I would have crapped myself if I would have seen that bomber come at me in my regular airliner. Come on they knew they were coming at you .That's some scarry s... glad all are okay...
WoW. Gotta give the right away to those Big BUFFs 😎😉😁
It's just a matter of time.
why are these near misses happening so frequently? who the hell is in charge of these planes? not doing a good job! we the people deserve qualified professionals overseeing our skies!
Agreed! It sounds like we've got middle eastern terrorists working in the airline industry...... DEI hires, perhaps?
Trump Cuts
Nah, DEI hires finally coming to light.
Sounds like we've got middle eastern terrorists working in the airline industry......
😱🤦🏻🤦🏻🤦🏻
Basically, the only one safe to fly is cankles?
The Trump regime has transformed the skies into a russian roulette. 😖
Can't imagine why people are avoiding travel to the US.
Man! You could tell that pilot was really pissed!
Competence matters. Trump administration is a clown show. People don’t realize how great they had it before Don the Con
Possibly ATC’s fault
Typical America…a military flyover at a fucking State Fair because…well, America😡
Contractor running air traffic control - great 🙄... One drawback of contracting basic government services like air traffic control is that the more parties involved, the less accountability at times like this.
That high-speed rail network is sounding awfully good right about now…
Well at least he apologized… always better to apologize for somebody else’s wrongdoing.
RESPECT!!!
Grace under pressure! Bravo!
Wow, what going with commercial aviation and the military since this administration?
DEI hires finally coming to light?
Duffy- Unqualified sycophant can't lead.
This is nuts
1. How long before pilot gets fired for daring to call the incident what it was vs. waiting for Hegseth to crawl out of a bottle to tell him via unsecured Signal chat what the official spin was supposed to be? 2. Will President Cankles and his cabal blame Biden, Obama, or marauding immigrants?
Trump doesn’t care if he kills people. He just wants to make cuts to civil service to give his billionaire buddies a tax cut.
Quick thinking saved everyone’s life.
Maybe it's time for a pilots strike before someone else gets killed.
Just so I am clear -- a Delta pilot apologized to passengers for *checks notes* making a hard turn *checks notes* to avoid a B-52 bomber?
Guy has class. Saves their lives, then apologizes for taking the action needed to do so.
Right? What am I missing? Please DO avoid the B52, eh?
Lolz. Was merely pointing out that the same information is repeated 3 times in the post.
Who’s more incompetent, Pete Hegseth or Sean Duffy?
Which water is wetter? The Atlantic or Pacific?
I love this analogy. 🙌🏼💦
US Air Force is being run like Trump Steaks
Apologize???? I expect they were pretty happy he was such a good pilot❤️
"Your next airplane flight is going to be less safe because of this. That's not political." - FAA employee Listen to insiders who know. psstpsst.substack.com/p/every-day-...
Sounds like we've got middle eastern terrorists working in the airline industry...... DEI hires, perhaps?
We know.
Uh, where's ATC? Oh yeah...
I’m sure the Delta pilot was a DEI hire, right?!
More like the USAF pilot was likely a newb rushed through the system, because Pete sacked all the experience pilots for having DEI skin colour.
Don’t apologize for being a hero #deltapilot
It was not a “Delta Air Lines” jet. It was a Sky West jet. Regional airlines are not new. Can news outlets ever report on air lines accurately? It only takes a little bit of research.
I haven't seen a single article that wasn't just sensationalizing the situation. The Sky West pilot absolutely overreacted. ATC did give a confusing order but immediately corrected that direction. The general population seems to be routing for a collapse of the airline industry at this point.
He had nothing to apologize for.
"Sorry folks, your tax dollars didn't go towards ensuring that Air Force jackoff actually knows how to fly a fucking plane without killing anyone"
… ATC should head on strike and let Trump dare pull a Dutch Reagan
Flying the unfriendly skies
Yup, sounds more like we've got middle eastern terrorists working in the airline industry...... DEI hires, perhaps?
Sean Duffy hard at work putting MORE American lives in danger. When is it not DEI's fault again?
Military doing such a great job of keeping us safe.
Trump did this
None of these close encounters happened under the previous administration
So many near misses and collisions under drunk hesgeths watch. Coincidence? Me thinks not.
I assume the pilot would be in trouble if he announced a military jet almost caused a collision.
Says the commercial pilot, lol. Sounds like we've got middle eastern terrorists working in the airline industry...... DEI hires, perhaps?
I think military flights don't give as much deference to civilian air traffic control as they ought to.
Neither one should be giving deference to each other. Control should be from air traffic controllers at a commercial airport who would/should know what's happening on the base. Air Force flights are planned too. Someone in air traffic control screwed up.
I defer to you, then.
I'm sure we'll hear more over the next few days but, it's definitely the commercial airports air traffic controllers who are aware/in control of everything going on in the airspace close by. It's getting pretty scary out there. apnews.com/article/airl...
Evidently the local flight controllers didn't even have radar. I suspect two large aircraft in their control area is a rarity.
Wow! I can't imagine not having radar. It will be interesting to see what's said when the investigation is complete. There would be times when an airforce base would need to send up planes under emergency situations. I'm surprised this hasn't led to accidents already.
As I said, I bet, in this area, two bigger non-general aviation planes are almost never in that airspace at the same time.
Guess that radar stealth really works, huh?
lol. The B-52 is known almost exclusively as BUFF (Big Ugly Fat Fucker) Probably the least stealthy thing flying other than a blimp.
Right!!!! 🤦♂️ Got the B-52 and B-2 backwards!
