This feels like the definition of end-stage capitalism…the hubris before the fall. Don’t get me wrong though, I’m glad this artist is getting theirs, no shade to profiting off of selling imaginary clothes to a naked emperor.

I mean, one of the artist's other works was a solid gold toilet named "America", installed for public use (which was later stolen, presumed to have been melted down to sell the gold), and he sold 3 copies of Comedian, so I would imagine he agrees with you.
