Trump will count the EU deal as 28 trade deals with the European members. Trump 15% tariff on European goods hits American consumers, probably leading to inflation. Europe will be buying weapons and energy from US, with no tariffs (so less inflation). Trump thinks it's a 'fair' deal.

Trump is all BS, I'll wait for the official details. Trump also had agreed and signed the USMCA with our neighbors, and then later unilaterally broke it, and imposed the highest tariffs on Canada and Mexico. Trump's assurances, even in a written treaty, are a daily do over.
