tarifs cuts into the US business profits. lower profit means reduced economy. Means less jobs. equals downward pressure on salaries given.

This, unfortunately will be a trend. Companies and stores with high volume of Chinese goods will go out of business. The 35% tariff will have to passed to consumers since a retailer like Claire only makes 1-3% margins. No room to absorb it.

My daughter will be devasted if they finally close up shop. It's always the first place she asks to visit when we go to the mall. Thankfully she is eight years old and soon will escape the Claire's orbit.

Though in my 30s, I became a big Spice Girls fan in 1998 and wanted a Spice watch. Claire's carried that merch so I visited. The teen girls who worked there took great delight in my elderly presence and "helped" me in withering manner that left scars! 😄 But I got my watch! 😜

Claire’s was owned by Apollo when it went under the first time (2018). Running a bankruptcy story without including the info that a company is or was held by private equity at some point, especially when that point was “first bankruptcy,” is either careless or intentional obfuscation. Your call.
