The T woman still had male genitalia and performed sex acts on the victim w/o disclosing the truth. They claimed to be a born woman on their period. This isn't about being trans, imo. It's about taking away the other person's ability to decide on engaging in sexual activity based on a lie.
If lying to partners was a criminal offence, pretty much everyone would be locked up.
It was a first date, if I remember correctly.
So the next time someone says "I love you" to get someone into bed...
It was a first date.

Why? I fully support everyone's rights. You just have to be honest with people.
okay, fine, but making it a crime is WAY too far.
Yeah, the crime thing is maybe too far. I'm not sure about that.
These people dedending this are fucking nuts.
Judge it was hard and I came but I didn’t like it afterwards
Alright, next is men who lie about their jobs and women who lie about their age.
"I'm an entrepreneur!!"
When in doubt, whip it out!
I hope she appeals this.
Fucking gross. If anything, and I mean anything, this should be a civil matter not a criminal matter. And even that should be a stretch. Shame on the prosecutor and whomever brought the charges.
Yeah if I a woman wanted to hook up with another woman and she stuck a real penis in me without my knowledge that a real penis was even an option I'd be going to the police too. I'd feel raped.
I mean, I can't speak directly to that cause I'm not woman but that isn't what happened here. The man in this case wasn't penetrated in any way. From the article the trans woman didn't allow him to go below her waist And when he pursued her, after she blocked him mind you, she disclosed her genitals
Sounds like she was the one who had her consent violated
Well if we’re making up shit that didn’t happen, if aliens stuck a probe in me I’d go to the police too.
Fuck that.
If a woman had an sti and did not disclose this to a partner with whom she had sex, would it also be illegal in the same way or would said partner have been felt to have simply been prepared to 'take a chance". Or was this guy just embarrassed?????
What if she faked her orgasm!!??
Help me out with the relevance of that....
It seems like if people are going to insist on complete honesty concerning sex that it will go to some pretty stupid places.
What I don't understand is why 2 in some ways similar situations, as I outlined, should be treated differently....The whole trans debate leaves me cold but I don't understand the legal logic here
The difference is an sti represents actual harm, and a blow job does not.
But the issue here is around informed consent ????
I agree, but then you have to define what a partner is obligated to inform you about, and that discussion will take you to some ridiculous places unless you draw the line somewhere objective. Physical harm is where I would put it.
Fair point. But I feel in this case the issue seems to be around consent given rather than the harm done. Lack of informed consent and a "thoughtless "sexual encounter could both lead to an STI or this guy's humiliation so why is this trans person before the courts? Weird....
was jk rowling the judge, this is beyond……
JFC.
Informed consent is the word of the week!
All sexual activity should require informed consent. This shouldn't be surprising.
How are you defining "informed" here? Should you be swapping CVs? Genetic testing?
Perhaps just telling your prospective partner? If you don't feel comfortable telling them then maybe you shouldn't be sleeping with them?
So did I get this? A guy is hitting on an attractive woman and she gets accused of assault?
They chose to identity as stupid
Ragebait. Fuck you CNN
In 1970 The Kinks had a chart hit with a song about something like that, now it is a punishable crime. Is that progress?
The Crying Game Redux.
Every day TERF Island finds new ways to scrape the bottom of the barrel.
Oh this is just plainly ridiculous.
Interesting that this goes to court 😂 But on the other hand, if you love someone, better be honest with them. 😂
