Deportation to Uganda is cruel and unusual punishment.
Deportation to Uganda is cruel and unusual punishment.
🇺🇬 so no waving the Uganda flag? 🤭
America is a fascist shithole
No he was kidnapped and human trafficked to a gulag you dipshits
Human trafficking by the DHS. The Supreme Court are supportive of this which is disgraceful.
And now they are BLACKMAILING him instead of admitting the US made an error. Because Republicans want all immigrants deported, our Constitution and laws and ethics be damned.
Gave up watching and following @CNN when they sold their souls a couple of years ago.
Garcia does everything right and follows the law but is abused time and time again. The trump regime does everything wrong and ignores the rule of law and gets away with it time and time again. This is America thanks to complicit Republicans, ignorant MAGAs and people who do not care.
This is what the American Reich does and what it stands for. Hate! 🔜
trump promised if elected would turn America into a authoritarian dictatorship ICE is the first step youtube.com/shorts/qy5vI... creating illegal masked police force to enforce his beliefs violating constitutional protections of due process Illegals just a prelude .. next ‘the enemy within’ ..
I’ll keep the immigrant landscaper over the rapist pedophile felon. Deport Trump. Deport Melania while we’re at it.
There’s no such thing as an “unlawful deportation”. It’s a kidnapping and human trafficking.
He'll be back.
If he comes back, even illegally, there will still be people who can’t bring themselves to be opposed to illegal immigration.
I was Schwarzenegging in an outbreak of humour, all the while believing that this dictatorship will end and he'll come back legally. But there is something underhand about your remark. Perhaps its you who can't see the difference between opposition to illegality and opposition to ill-treatment.
Law makers looking the other way and allowing people to remain in the USA illegally isn’t coming back legally. Admins of the past both Republican and Democrat had paid lips service to enforcing our immigration laws after the people were told they’d crack down on illegal immigration post amnesty law
I understand where you're coming from.
He's a criminal
Are we not a country of "innocent until proven guilty" ? Where is the trial record for Mr. Garcia?
The question everyone in the world is asking themself now is : When will the Americans wake up and do something? isn't your second amendment soooo important just in case a dictator tries to take over? Not saying you should take arms, but strikes, days of manifestation, everything closed, something
Americans are showing themselves to be the weakest people in the world! Stand up and do something for God’s sake!
What time is his flight?
I get $100 worth of joy out of this. I’m not giving that up for nothin’. What about $125 and that sweet black jacket?
You expect trump's adminstation to make a dictator's play and defy the court?
There was no order preventing him from being deported to Uganda, just El Salvador. There has been an order in the last couple of hours, but it’s just temporary to give Garcia a chance to challenge the deportation to Uganda. There is no legal basis for him to remain in the US.
You're saying there is no order but there is an order? Sure there's a legal basis for him to stay in the U.S.-that's what this has all been about. He didn't have a deportation hearing before they sent him to El Salvador. The deal they offered was coercion.
There was an order that he couldn’t be deported to El Salvador. As of this afternoon, there is an order that he cannot leave the US until he has a chance to challenge the deportation to Uganda. It’s a formality. The SC has already said he can be deported, but a process must be followed.
No, it's not a formality. You're reading the orders incorrectly. The government has the right to deport him because he's an immigrant. The court didn't "pre-approve" his deportation, they can't. He was here legally, no one has ever gone through the legal process to revoke his legal status.
Thread about the hearing bsky.app/profile/muel...
That snowflake blocked me. I didn’t say they pre-approved. They did say Trump has the authority to illegals after they have a hearing. He will, but he has no card to play. He said he afraid to go back to El Salvador. He’s not.
I didn't block you.
He has (probably had) the opportunity to go to Costa Rica. He has no opportunity to stay here.
That's what Trump's insufferable twit of a press secretary claimed, without the slightest reference to the law or the facts. Trump is still butthurt that the law constrains his whims. Meanwhile in reality, the judge is not playing. This matter is decided in the courts, not by Stephen Miller.
No, he's not here legally. He has a final order of deportation - the only restriction is that he can't be deported to El Salvador.
He was granted temporary legal status in 2019. The Trump administration admitted they made a mistake in deporting him.
That's withholding of removal, which only prevents him from being deported to El Salvador. He can be deported anywhere else with no further proceedings.
Been in a cave?
He should have taken the deal to go to Costa Rica a free man.
In related news, @cnn.com executives will be taken into custody and deported to El Salvador following Trump’s declaration of martial law, because trying to appease press-hating fascists is a fool’s errand.
HE DID NOT TURN HIMSELF IN, HE SHOWED UP FOR AN APPOINTMENT
Any reason why it doesn't just say "the Maryland man who was unlawfully deported to El Salvador earlier this year, was unlawfully deported again"
USA is now a protonazi state, already an autocracy exercising a complete disregard for the rule of law and human rights. The whole world always thought yours was one of the strongest democracies, but in the end it is showing that it was always one of the weakest, most fragile ones.
It really feels like they don't want him to walk free. They either want him to admit to wrongdoing so they can scream about how they were in the right, or they send him away so the population eventually forgets him when the administration just floods the news with some unimportant distractions.
