This was one of the first books I remember reading myself, as a child. It was so sad.
Yes, it wasn't hanky at the ready... but table cloth! By publishing the novel, @jarroldsnorwich.bsky.social were instrumental in transforming attitudes to horse welfare.
Thank goodness for it, too... I must have been about eight, and I still remember the death of Black Beauty's friend Ginger.
I have never finished the book. Tried reading it twice in my childhood. Never got further after Ginger died. 😭
A common refrain.... as well as, "I cried my eyes out.. " Still one has to marvel at the legacy it brought in improving equine welfare and congratulate Norwich based publisher @jarroldsnorwich.bsky.social for believing in the 'autobiography'
