Recognize that there is power in numbers, there is meaning in our voice. The way it's shaking out, literally 99% of the United States will suffer the same outcome... the enemy of your enemy, as they say. Just talk about it and refuse to accept it.
Not just remove the ability to oppose them but make everyone dependent on their favor for any level of comfort and privilege. It not only suppresses the populace but allows them to separate out a subservient privileged class who will choose those small comforts over fighting back.
