In California, we’re producing so much excess solar that we’re paying Arizona to take it, lowering utility bills for their residents while ours remain the highest in the country.

California's PG&E buys a large portion of the energy from the Palo Verde Nuclear Plant here in Arizona, just like y'all take our water too lol
As an Arizonan, thank you!
( Oil hates this one trick. )
On a positive note, the excess solar that is routed to AZ and NM is good for the environment by substituting carbon based energy used in those states. A better solution is to install more battery storage and produce green hydrogen with the excess #Solar and feed it back to the grid when needed.
Not only that but you're paying net metering customers full retail while you're also paying Arizona to take the solar away
