Tariffs, used correctly, protect labor unions, especially in the auto sector. Free trade decimated manufacturing labor in the 80s and 90s. His vision is based in policy, which is distinctly different from the MAGA ideology, if there is such a thing.

Fair! At minimum, I tend to trust Shawn far more around policies he supports because he’s informed on how they will impact the UAW. The man is genuinely smart and cares deeply for his union and labor partners.

I think Unions still have some shell shock from Clinton selling out American workers with NAFTA. It really crushed the American labor unions. I dont agree with tariffs, and dont expect trump to negotiate a pro labor deal, so i dont know exactly what hes going for. Hes clearly not pro trump though

Buddy ,not to defend tricky Bill but unions got crashed by Reagan. For whom most of them then voted. G W Shrub hyper-offshored their jobs in his 8 years. And they also voted for him. White ‘working’ class is beyond saving at this point, they value ( always had) racism above everything else.
