Just to clarify: @hunterw.bsky.social said that Taylor Swift used her celebrity status to pioneer dynamic pricing. Which she did, back in 2018. It *is* fair to note that she's reversed her stance and fought for the right to opt out, since then. Also, this is not a news site.

Ticketmaster is the major culprit. They pioneer this, but of course they don’t do it without the artist agreeing to it. Taylor Swift like many other artists did use dynamic pricing, but she realized it was bad for her fans so she stopped it with her biggest and most successful tour ever.

Taylor Swift didn’t create dynamic pricing Ticketmaster did. Ticketmaster is the evil in this story not Taylor Swift.

Who‘s talking about „evil“? We all know Ticketmaster are a massive hulk of shit. So is dynamic pricing. Swift got in on it early, so she was on board with evil shit, even if they probably sold it to her for the „right“ reasons (allegedly discouraging scalpers). She eventually changed her mind. Good.

I don’t know where you’re getting your information but dynamic pricing or search. Pricing wasn’t created by Taylor Swift. Ticketmaster Pioneer this and they’ve been doing it longer than 2018. www.pricefx.com/learning-cen...

Wait, now you're switching to arguing about who *invented* it? Facts: — Dynamic pricing and its variation "slow ticketing" have been available since at least 2018. — The Taylor Swift "Reputation" tour was the first time many people heard about it. — Ticketmaster weren't the first to use it.
