There has to be something this season with the Royals and dealing w/ pressure. Repeatedly this season, they can lose the first 2 games of a series, but then win the third game. They can get a hit with 2 out & bases empty, but not w/ RISP and less than 2 out.

I‘ve felt like their extended slumps and inability to hit with RISP has been internal pressure all year. “We HAVE to get a hit/win, as death grips turn their bat handles into sawdust.“

Yep. See how loose they have been today? I don't know how you learn to deal with that and conquer it, but I think that's been a significant part of what went wayward this season.

I think it even started with post-season last year facing the Orioles (and their sparse run production even though they won) and the Yankees series.

I would agree with that. Yes, they need one or two extra bats but I never felt like they were "that bad".
