As an outsider i find it disturbing that nothing is done about it. I've read your Second Amendment. You have a well regulated militia in the National Guard. WTF do civilians need semi-automatic rifles for exactly? And why in the f/k are these weapons just allowed to be kept out in the open!? Insane!
No shit. Many (most?) of us have said that forever. But the great minds on the Supreme Court say otherwise. At least the word “arms” appears in the Constitution unlike, say, “total immunity”. Meanwhile, people get slaughtered so assholes can cosplay with their military grade weapon (priorities).
In most states no, they're not allowed to be kept out in the open. I'd also point out that in the event of a fascist takeover, such as we're currently in, the National Guard can be turned against us, as it currently is, and the theory was that these would be used for that. Didn't work out that way.
