Very few Democrats believe in their own power to actually *do* anything substantive. Pritzker is an exception.
fascists (even hitler and stalin did this) rely on MOVING FAST, executive decisions, etc. and the political world that's supposed to stop this stuff moves slow (or not at all). They just keep doing shit and there's no one/nothing in the way.

Some folks, myself included, have been saying it for months, and it was really encouraging to hear Pritzker actually make a proclamation like this. We also cannot underestimate the potential deterrent effect. The people involved know what they are doing is illegal and that this era will end.
